Made a trip to Wal-Mart today to complete my meals for the month and pick up some of the good price match deals! I saved around $50 dollars by price matching and using coupons! I have to say that I get pretty excited about saving that amount of money in one little shopping trip. Especially when I think about the fact that I used to waltz in to Wal-Mart, pick up whatever my family needed and usually spend $200 or more! Seriously, what was I thinking!?
While checking out, without my ads, the cashier actually did question a few of my items and ask me where my ads were. I politely told her that the ad match guarantee says you do not have to have the ads, but she proceeded to tell me that for some stores you do have to have them. Evidently the Ad Match Guarantee is a “Guideline” and the stores don’t necessarily have to go by that. She still gave me the price match I was trying to get and I was very thankful! After checking out, I spoke to a manager so that I could better understand the whole Ad Match Policy. This is what I found out for my store in Seagoville, but I would assume that other Wal-Marts might be different. She said that for stores directly in our area like Kroger, Albertsons, Brookshire’s, etc. that they would already have the ads for those at the registers or Customer Service desk, so you DO NOT have to have them. But for a store that they might not have an ad for like El Rancho, La Michocana, etc., you would need to bring the ad, otherwise they would have no way of knowing if you were making up the price or not. It makes sense to me, and I’m glad I asked so I can be sure I have what I need when I go in!
I am very grateful to Wal-Mart for price matching! It saves us busy moms from having to drive around from store to store to get the sale prices! I don’t know about you, but I definitely don’t have time for that!
