Spent $41.44 for over $120.00 in Groceries/Other Necessities at Wal-Mart

Price Matching and Coupons Pays off Again!
I didn't get a picture of everything I got because, honestly I was just ready to get it put away and didn't even think about getting a picture!  After looking at my receipt I estimated that I saved around $44 price matching, and $38 in coupons.  That's a total savings of $88!

My "DEAL OF THE DAY" was 8 count boxes of Pop Tarts.  They are around $2.28 at Wal-Mart and I have them on my price match list this week for $1 at Super 1 Foods.  This is a really good price so I was already planning on getting a few boxes because my kids love them and let's just be honest, so do I!  I was pleasantly surprised and downright giddy when I noticed that many of the Pop Tart Boxes had $1/2 Peelie Coupons on them!  That made them $.50 a box!!  So I picked up 8 boxes!  There were still some coupons on the boxes at my Wal-Mart in Seagoville if you want to run out and get some!

I also found $1.50/2 Peelies on some of the Kellogs Cereal boxes!  Which made them $1.13 a box after my price match of $1.88!  I have to say I was pretty excited about both of these deals!  Did anyone else find those coupons?

What deals did you snag this week?  I'd love to hear how you did!

Here's what I ended up getting for $41.44
1 Gallon of Milk
1 12 pack Dr Pepper
1 12 pack Coke
4 Boxes of Kellogs Cereal
Fritos
Cheetos
Mrs. Bairds Thin Bread
Bimbo Tortillas
3 AirWick Freshmatic Starter Kit
Tomatoes
Onion
Lettuce
4 Bags of Combos
2 Noxema Bikini Razors
8 Boxes Pop Tarts
2 Packs of Danimals Yogurt
2 Bags of Chex Mix
2 Bags of Oyster Crackers
2 Bags Sour Patch Kids Candies
John Frieda Shampoo
John Frieda Conditioner

(Also not pictured I had Hyland's Teething Gel that I gave to my sister, and some stickers and a sucker that I used for filler items!)

I did 5 transactions so that I could roll my Register Rewards from one transaction to the next.  I didn't start out with any Register Rewards so it saved me money to do it this way.  It sounds complicated, but as long as you are organized and the store isn't too busy, it's really not a big deal.  Most of the cashiers are used to it. And here's a tip:  Check out at the beauty counter, the girl working there is usually very nice and accustomed to doing multiple transactions!

3 Sally Hansen Beauty Tool Products priced around $4.99 (on sale for 30% off) Spend $10 get $5 RR
one filler item-I got some stationary that was on clearance for .50 (at Walgreens you can't have more coupons than items, so I had to get a filler item since I planned on using 4 coupons)

Used 3 $2 Manufacturer Coupons found in the 6/12 RP
Plus I used the $5 RR I got from the first transaction (this counts as a coupon, which is why I had to get the filler item)

Wal-Mart Price Match Trip Today- $130 in Groceries for $77.55

Made a trip to Wal-Mart today to complete my meals for the month and pick up some of the good price match deals!  I saved around $50 dollars by price matching and using coupons!  I have to say that I get pretty excited about saving that amount of money in one little shopping trip.  Especially when I think about the fact that I used to waltz in to Wal-Mart, pick up whatever my family needed and usually spend $200 or more!  Seriously, what was I thinking!?

While checking out, without my ads, the cashier actually did question a few of my items and ask me where my ads were.  I politely told her that the ad match guarantee says you do not have to have the ads, but she proceeded to tell me that for some stores you do have to have them.  Evidently the Ad Match Guarantee is a “Guideline” and the stores don’t necessarily have to go by that.  She still gave me the price match I was trying to get and I was very thankful!  After checking out, I spoke to a manager so that I could better understand the whole Ad Match Policy.  This is what I found out for my store in Seagoville, but I would assume that other Wal-Marts might be different.  She said that for stores directly in our area like Kroger, Albertsons, Brookshire’s, etc. that they would already have the ads for those at the registers or Customer Service desk, so you DO NOT have to have them.  But for a store that they might not have an ad for like El Rancho, La Michocana, etc., you would need to bring the ad, otherwise they would have no way of knowing if you were making up the price or not.  It makes sense to me, and I’m glad I asked so I can be sure I have what I need when I go in!

I am very grateful to Wal-Mart for price matching!  It saves us busy moms from having to drive around from store to store to get the sale prices!  I don’t know about you, but I definitely don’t have time for that!

Price Matching at Wal-Mart and Wal-Mart's Ad Match Guarantee

http://walmartstores.com/10563.aspx

You can click on the link above to read Wal-Mart’s Ad Match policy.  It might be a good idea to print this policy before going to the store to price match.  You will notice in their guarantee it says that you DO NOT have to have the ad with you to get the price!  But, I have heard that some stores still require you to have the ads to show them! These stores say that it is up to each store whether or not they have to see the ads.  I don't see this anywhere on the AD MATCH GUARANTEE, do you? I personally have never had any problems price matching and it has saved my family A LOT of money!

Price Matching is Easy:
1.  Find the items on the list that your family needs!
2.  When you go to check out it is a good idea to separate your price match items from your regular price items!  I do the price match items first to get them out of the way!
3.  Before the cashier rings up a price match item tell her the price (show the ad if required).  He/She will ring up the item for the price you give them!  It's that simple!
4.  Don't be discouraged by the impatient people in line behind you...they WISH they were saving as much money as you are!  Sometimes I will even tell them some price matches for items they are buying!  They love that! :)
